Frequently asked questions…..
How and when do I get my placenta to you?
Once your baby is born you will call the contact number you were provided with and we will pick up your placenta at the hospital or your home as determined in our agreement. You may also opt to drop it off and pick it up yourself at our location (in Burlington/Hamilton Ontario, or Beaumont Alberta) for a slightly lower fee.
How do I store the placenta until it is picked up?
The hospital may package it for you but we always recommend you bring a Tupperware/Ziploc type container with a lid just in case. If it will be longer than 4 hours before we pick it up or it is delivered to us, your placenta needs to be kept refrigerated.
How long does the process take?
If you have chosen the Traditional method of encapsulation your capsules will be returned to you within 48 hours. If you opted for the RAW method it takes longer to dehydrate, which means it will usually be returned to you within 72 hours.
Are there any negative effects of consuming my placenta?
At this time there have not been any negative results reported as a result of consuming placenta capsules. A few women have reported headaches after taking capsules processed with the RAW method, but it is not clearly know if there is indeed a correlation.
How do I make arrangements to have my placenta encapsulated?
Contact us to let us know you would like to book your encapsulation. You will be connected with our Placenta Specialist who will make the arrangements with you to reserve your due date. Or click on the button at the top of any page to go directly to our booking agreement form.
